It's still quite difficult to say anything about Jolla, her being only a little bit over one year old. She's definitely still looking for herself and growing into being her own unique self. But so far I have been quite satisfied with my little baby girl. She's a little sunshine of my day! She's always happy, and so kind to everyone she meets. Jolla loves playing tug-o-war with me, and with Milka (my older dog, 7y/o smooth collie bitch) she has these fun-to-watch doggy wrestling funtimes. And god, how she loves running! She nearly ever moves anywhere with anything less than full speed.
From what I've gathered so far, I think Jolla has quite a nice engine for working inside her - though she's usually so full of energy, she can't concentrate (yet, I hope!) for too long at a time. We have started on obedience and agility basics, and she really seems to love agility and especially tunnels. Funny little thing. She's quite sensitive to my reactions, especially when we are inside the house or in a training hall. Outside? Not so much. She couldn't care less. I feel she thinks outside places are for running free only and anything else outside is way less interesting than exploring and running aimlessly.
I feel she is a teensy bit too noisy for an Aussie. She seems to love her own voice and from the looks of it, she's learned it from Milka. Milka hasn't always been noisy either, just after I taught her to bark on command... And that was it, good bye quiet life! She doesn't bark at sounds from outside the apartment, though, which is a relief. And I haven't had complaints about my dogs barking when they're home alone. But when she gets excited, se just seems to lose control! She has so much fun she has to let the whole world know about it!
Outside then, well. I think Jolla is going through some kind of puberty, like I mentioned, looking for her own self and how to live in this world. Especially in darker times of the day if we go for a walk she might get suspicious of pretty much anything - even things she's seen before. And there comes the alert barking. It's super annoying, but we're working on it.
Inside the house she's super sweet and fun to live with. She always has a smile on her face and a little bit of a mischievous twinkle in the corner of her eye. So far she's especially loved destroying my boyfriend's shoes, though mine she leaves alone. I guess my boyfriend has better sock juices? Wouldn't know! Anything is a toy for her! And when the nighttime falls in and it's time to sleep.. She takes her place right next to me on my arms and steals half of my pillow. ♥
